IELTS Preparation Curriculum

Listening

The Listening module has four recordings and 40 questions, and takes about 30 minutes. We work on predicting answers before you hear them, following a conversation as it changes direction, and catching spelling and number details. We also cover the question formats you will see, such as multiple choice, form completion, map labelling and matching.

Speaking

The Speaking module is a face-to-face conversation with an examiner and takes 11 to 14 minutes. It has three parts: personal questions, a short talk on a topic card and a follow-up discussion. We work on fluency, vocabulary, pronunciation and organising your answers, so you can speak naturally under pressure.

Writing

The IELTS Writing module takes 60 minutes and includes two tasks. Academic Task 1 focuses on describing visual information, while General Training Task 1 involves writing letters. Both versions include Task 2, where you write an essay with a clear argument. Our preparation focuses on task structure, time management and improving your writing skills.

Reading

The Reading module has three sections with 40 questions, and takes 60 minutes. The passages are long and the time is tight, so we practise skimming and scanning, finding the answer in the text and avoiding common traps in True/False/Not Given and matching-heading questions.

Jahanzaib Ahmed Kamil founded JAK Global Education with “JAK” taken from his initials and personally teaches IELTS across both Academic and General Training. Do I need IELTS preparation if my English is already good?

Many fluent speakers still lose marks on timing, task requirements and unfamiliar question types. Preparation helps you understand how the test is marked.

How long are IELTS results valid?

Two years from the test date.

Can I retake the test?

Yes. You can retake IELTS as many times as you like, subject to test centre availability and fees. If you have already taken it, share your results in your consultation so we can focus on the modules that need work.

Is IELTS on paper or on computer?

Both formats are available at many test centres. The content and scoring are the same.
